Gold: A Nova Scotia Treasure

Even though this project had a modest fixed design budget for this 3800 square foot exhibit, I maintained my commitment to developing a world-class traveling exhibit. The project was a joint venture of the Nova Scotia Museum of Industry, Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History, Nova Scotia Archives and Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources.

The most interesting challenge structurally was to create an exhibit that could travel. The custom modular nature of the design made it flexible enough to fit into several different venues. The cases built into the walls where designed to provided a high-level of security given the value some of the gold artifacts.

The exhibit traveled to six venues since its fall launch in 2012. Part of this exhibit found permanent home in the Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame. While the exhibit was being hosted at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, according to their own records, visitation increased by 40%
